CHANGES COMING IN CTPA FOR 2008

- Addition of a new No. 12 incentive class
within the Open class.
- Addition of a new No. 6 incentive
class within the No. 8 class.
- Addition of a Masters Handicap class in the
Sorting (over 50).
- Addition of a Newbie class in the
Sorting (no points, $10 entry fee, nonmember fee and no payback--practice
only.)
- 2008 Finals format:
Qualification: Now there are several options for you as a member to
qualify for the 2008 CTPA finals. They are as follows: (1)
attend 3 CTPA-sponsored events; or
(2) attend 2 CTPA-sponsored events and 2 promoter
events that are final's qualifying events; or
(3) attend 1 CTPA-sponsored event and 4 promoter events that are final's
qualifying events
for penning and for sorting. Qualify and you can ride 4 times, no pick
or be picked for 2008. Each penning class will have four goes, 50%
back to second go, then a Top 20 to the third go, then a Top 10. 75% to average, 25%
to go-rounds to be divided up between the four go-rounds. Each sorting
class will have three goes, 50% to second go, Top 10. Finals awards
banquet will be held after the 2009 Kickoff in Albany in October 2008.
Saddles to be given to rating nos. 1-6 in penning and sorting.
- New rules are being printed and will be distributed on the web site and to all members by October 15, 2006.
